We were commissioned to design a new development for H&R Johnson Tiles Ltd at their Valley Works in Tunstall. The scheme consolidates their manufacturing process on one site.
The project includes a new 52,000sqft warehouse, with an extension to the raw material, preparation and production areas, and a two storey 26,000sqft office area. New meeting spaces have been designed into the main spiral stair with a new display area at ground floor level.
The brief called for a totally column free production area at ground floor so the first floor area is suspended from the roof trusses and it has a span of 42m.
